Volunteering is a very rewarding and useful experience

It not only makes a positive impact on people’s lives, but it also enables you to build on skills, learn new ones, and improve your self esteem and confidence.

At Burton & District Mind, we have a few different opportunities you can get involved with as a volunteer, ranging from supporting our projects, going to outreach events, and even supporting our Communications team!

Our Volunteers are such an important of our team here at Burton & District Mind are we are so incredibly grateful for them.

Here is what one of our volunteer Lesley Kirk said about volunteering for us…
“I would say definitely, the staff are brilliant and so supportive, and other volunteers are great, and we work together as a team, also the participants, who are struggling, and then becoming part of the project and enjoying what they are doing, also to see the friendships they make with each other is very rewarding.
Mental Health is very important to me. I have struggled in the past, and because of the volunteering, it has helped me understand more about myself and my mental health.
This has been an incredible journey, which I hope to stay on for as long as I can.”
