Burton & District Mind direct services provide Counselling independently through our
Fast Track Counselling service.

The Fast Track Counselling is a direct service to be seen without having to wait on a waiting list. The cost to this service is £55 a session, with an upfront deposit of 1 session. Availability is dependent on matching your availability with the counsellors availability.

On the Fast Track Counselling you would have an assessment done as soon as possible and would be allocated within the week to the Counsellor with a view to booking you in for your first session within 2 weeks.

What is Counselling?

If you’re struggling with your mental health or life issues, then counselling will give you the opportunity to explore and process issues such as anxiety or depression with one of our team of trained counsellors.

There are many types of counselling but all aim to:

  • Give you a safe and secure space to talk to someone who won’t judge you.
  • Help you make sense of things to understand yourself better.
  • Help you resolve complicated feelings or find ways to live with them.
  • Maintain your confidentiality (unless you disclose you are being abused and it becomes a matter of safeguarding). All sessions are one-to-one.
  • Help you recognise unhelpful patterns in the way you think or act and find ways to change them (if you want to).

Counsellors will not

  • Refer you to other services without your consent.
  • Give you advice or tell you what to do.
  • They will keep professional boundaries and won’t meet with you socially.

At Burton & District Mind, most of our counsellors practice Integrative Counselling, which means they will bring a range of psychological practices into your counselling sessions. They will adapt their therapy to your needs and focus on providing you with the support you need.

All of our counsellors are fully qualified and experienced with ongoing professional development and receive regular clinical supervision. Most of our counsellors are registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and those that aren’t are registered by other professional bodies. You can request details upon allocation.

To refer into this service, you will need to be 16 or over and live in our service area (East Staffs, Lichfield District or Tamworth).

To arrange your FREE assessment, please either:

  • Call the Office on 01283 566696 during office hours
  • Email your contact details to info@burtonmind.co.uk
  • or complete the online form using the ‘Register’ button below…

Following an assessment for Fast Track Counselling you will be allocated to our Counsellor within the week to book you for an appointment within 2 weeks.

The assessment is to take down the necessary details regarding suitability and goals of therapy.

Once allocated the therapist will contact you to arrange your first session matching your availability as discussed on assessment.

The sessions are 50-60 mins and available Face to Face or remote via Telephone and Video.

If you are unable to attend an arranged appointment it is essential that you give us as much notice as possible. A message can be left at any time on our voicemail facility.

If you fail to cancel in good time you may lose that session and if you miss two appointments without contacting us we will assume that you no longer wish to continue with the sessions.

Testimonial:

“I would like to thank the counsellor for their caring empathy, found him to be a good listener.

I enjoyed our conversations as they allowed me to express and unload some of the stresses I am enduring. I would wish it to be known that I found his whole approach very professional and friendly.”
